Menorca doesn\u2019t need filters, but if you want your Instagram gallery to speak for you, here\u2019s a guide to the most photogenic (and less obvious) corners of the island. From hidden coves to lighthouses with character, here\u2019s the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Getting there is easy: it\u2019s located in Cala en Porter, in the south of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just follow the signs and park nearby. This place is like a club built inside a cave overlooking the sea. Literally. Visiting at sunset is a must: the colours, the soft background music, and the cliff make the perfect postcard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can grab a drink on the top terrace or head down to the platforms closer to the sea. If you post a photo here, people will definitely ask where it is. And yes, it\u2019s best to book a ticket in high season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Pont d\u2019en Gil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
This natural bridge is located on the outskirts of Ciutadella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re driving, park in Cala en Blanes and walk about 20 minutes. The trail is easy and the result is incredible: a giant stone arch over the sea, particularly beautiful at sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trick is to bring a snack, a camera with a good zoom, and find a good angle just as the sun sets behind the arch. If it\u2019s calm, the reflection in the water adds extra points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Binibeca Vell<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This village is a classic, but it never fails. It\u2019s in the south, near Sant Llu\u00eds. The whitewashed houses, narrow streets, and wooden doors give you endless opportunities for photos that look like they\u2019re from a catalogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We recommend going early in the morning, before the crowds arrive. And if you can, stay for lunch in the area. The bars have very photogenic terraces as well. Just try not to shout too much: people live here all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Cala Macarella and Macarelleta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
From Ciutadella, you can take a direct bus, or park in Cala Galdana and walk. These are two coves connected by a trail that offers some of the island\u2019s most stunning views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you go early, you can have the beach almost to yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wear comfortable shoes for the walk and bring water (there\u2019s no beach bar nearby). The photo from above, with both coves connected, is one of those that gets the most likes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Fav\u00e0ritx Lighthouse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This lighthouse has a unique vibe. It\u2019s in the northeast, within the Parc Natural de s\u2019Albufera des Grau. The landscape changes: black rocks, dry land, and a white lighthouse with black stripes that can be seen from afar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the summer, you can\u2019t drive up to the door, but there\u2019s a shuttle bus from Es Grau. Once you get there, walk around a bit to find the perfect frame. Ideal for minimalist photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Cala Pregonda<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
To get there, you\u2019ll need to walk. Park your car in Binimel\u00b7l\u00e0 and get ready for a 30-40 minute walk. But it\u2019s worth it: reddish sand, golden rocks, and a sea that changes colour with the sunlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s no shade, so getting there early helps. If you pick a good day, you can get photos with stunning contrast between the water and the rock formations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And if you dive, keep an eye out for underwater videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Monte Toro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
This is the highest point in Menorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drive up, and from the top, you get a view of almost the entire island. This is the place for photos with a wide context. There\u2019s a small sanctuary and a very photogenic statue too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Go when the sky is clear and bring a jacket: even though it\u2019s warm below, there\u2019s always a breeze at the top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ideal for selfies with a wide background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Cala Escorxada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not easy to get to, but that\u2019s part of its charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You need to walk quite a bit from Santo Tom\u00e1s. The path is a trail, but the reward is huge: a little-visited cove surrounded by cliffs with unique rock formations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trick is to go with plenty of battery on your phone or camera, because you\u2019ll want to take a lot of photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And by the way, there\u2019s no phone signal: ideal for disconnecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Es Mercadal Village<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Es Mercadal is in the centre of the island. Here, you won\u2019t find beaches, but streets with colourful facades, peaceful squares, and details that make every photo come to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ideal for lifestyle shots, with beautiful cafes in the background and flower-filled corners on every street. If you\u2019re lucky and visit on market day, the atmosphere will be even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. Cala en Brut<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
On the outskirts of Ciutadella, this cove has no sand, but it does have platforms to jump into the water. It\u2019s famous for this and its deep blue colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Slow-motion jump videos or photos taken from below, with someone flying in the air, are a big hit here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The best time is around mid-morning, when the sun is already hitting the water, but there are still not many people. Wear water shoes if you don\u2019t like rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11. Albufera des Grau<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
This area is perfect for those who enjoy using their camera more than striking poses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trails, birdwatching observatories, and different landscapes. You can enter through Es Grau and follow the signposted routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The best photos are taken with a telephoto lens, capturing moving birds or reflections in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re after a different type of reel, this is your place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
12. Lithica Pedreres de s\u2019Hostal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
An old quarry converted into a garden and stone labyrinth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s near Ciutadella and is an amazing spot to play with light and shadows. The towering walls and carved paths give you angles you won\u2019t find anywhere else on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
13. Cala Mitjana and Mitjaneta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
From Cala Galdana, you can get there in about 20 minutes on foot. They\u2019re more accessible than others, but still just as photogenic. The combination of white rocks, dense vegetation, and sea offers plenty of options for photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Climb the lateral edges to get photos with perspective or go down to the water for the classic feet-in-the-sand shots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you go early, you have more time to play with the light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
