Located on the south coast of Menorca, Cala en Porter is a well-known beach of fine white sand and turquoise-blue waters. Its location between 2 cliffs makes this cove have calm waters, shallow and without waves, an excellent natural pool in the Mediterranean. Ideal for enjoying fun days at the beach with the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beach of Cala en Porter is very comfortable if you travel with children, as it has lifeguards, showers, sun loungers, and umbrellas to spend relaxing and quiet days on the sand. Kids can play in the small playground next to the sand, while adults can have a drink in one of the bars and restaurants on the promenade while enjoying the views of the Mediterranean from their terraces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Get Here?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cala en Porter is easily accessible by car, whether you come from Alaior or Mah\u00f3n. From Alaior, you will find the cove at only 11 Km, and Mah\u00f3n is at 12 Km by the road from San Climent. Once you arrive, you can leave your car in the parking located next to the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you do not have a car, you can also access it by public transport. The bus lines operate during the summer season. The L31 leaves from Mah\u00f3n passing by San Climent and if you arrive from Ciudadella you will have to take the L1 Ciutadella – Mah\u00f3n and change to the L33 in Alaior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala en Porter has a very lively atmosphere, as well as enjoying the tranquillity of its waters you can visit some of the most famous natural enclaves of the island and do a wide range of water activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Sunsets<\/strong>: <\/strong>From its cliffs, you can contemplate one of the best views of the Mediterranean and perhaps the best sunset of the island.\u00a0 From the viewpoint located on the left side of the cove, you can also enjoy incredible sunsets and beautiful views of the cove and its cliffs.<\/li>
  • Yacimientos hist\u00f3ricos<\/strong>: Historical settlements<\/strong>: In the surroundings of Cala en Porter, you can also visit the Talayotic settlement Torralba d’en Salord<\/em><\/strong> where you can find one of the best-preserved and largest taulas<\/em> of the island. You can also see another site from the Talayotic period, the Sanctuary of So na Ca\u00e7ana<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>
  • Kayaking<\/strong>: Cala en Porter is one of the best places on the island for kayaking, with a great route for exploring the caves and caverns that are scattered along this rocky coastline.<\/li>
  • > Canyoning: <\/strong><\/strong>If you like adventure and contact with nature from this beach, you can go through the Barranco de Cala en Porter<\/em>, where you will find the pecan trees of S’hort Squella<\/em>, giant trees that have been listed as singular by the Balearic government.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Cala en Porter offers a wide variety of restaurants and bars to have a drink and enjoy the gastronomy and the lively atmosphere of the area. On the promenade and its surroundings, there are options for all tastes and budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Contemplate one of the best views of the Mediterranean and perhaps the best sunset of the island from the Cova d’en Xori.<\/strong>  This bar, located in a natural cave on the cliffs, is one of the most famous places on the island to enjoy the sunset from one of its terraces while drinking or tasting the famous Menorcan lobster Caldereta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In El Pulpo<\/strong> restaurant, you can taste the best Mediterranean cuisine with typical high-quality products of the island. Another highly recommended option is the 007 <\/strong>restaurant, with a fantastic garden to spend a relaxed evening and taste sausages, cheeses, and seasonal products to discover the best flavors of Menorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you are looking for a more exclusive option, although a little further away, you can go for a drink or dinner at Torralbenc, a luxury rural hotel located in the middle of the countryside on the outskirts of ala en Porter, which allows free entrance to its terrace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
