Romantic plans to do in Menorca with your partner

If you have already chosen where to stay, below we tell you the best plans to live, with your partner, a dream holiday while touring the island.

1. Watching unforgettable sunsets

In Menorca, you can contemplate some of the best sunsets in the Mediterranean, one of the most romantic plans to enjoy with your partner the immensity and the spectacle that nature offers us. Can you think of anything better than contemplating a beautiful sunset overlooking the sea from a virgin beach?

There are many options to see beautiful sunsets on the island; these are some of our favorites, which are sure to captivate you:

  • Turqueta cove
  • Son Bou beach
  • Favaritx lighthouse
  • Morell cove (Ses Torretes)
  • Talatí de Dalt

2. Diving in its virgin beaches

With more than 70 beaches distributed along its coast, Menorca offers small and paradisiacal beaches hidden between cliffs with the most turquoise waters you have ever seen.

On the north coast are the wildest beaches and fewer tourists, because of its difficult access and idyllic place, we can assure you that are the best virgin coves to visit on the island and get lost with your partner.

Cala Mitjana Menorca

Although there are many options, all have something special; these are our recommendations to explore the wildest side of the island through its nature:

  • North coast: Platja de Cavalleria, Algaiarens and Cala Pregonda
  • South coast: Binigaus, Cala Mitjana and Escorxada

Finally, we recommend visiting the Natural Park of S’Albufera d’es Grau, a biosphere reserve, and enjoying Cala Tortuga, which is located within the reserve of S’Albufera d’es Grau and is named after the turtles that live in the lagoon of Morella, right next to the beach.

3. Walking the Camí dels Cavalls

To admire the landscape of the Minorcan coast from another perspective is possible from the Camí dels Cavalls. This historical path that surrounds the whole island was used by King Jaume II’s army in 1330 to guard and defend the island from pirate attacks. To observe nature and contemplate incredible views of the island’s best beaches is the perfect plan to enjoy a different day.

4. Explore the Seven Lighthouses, The Guardians of the Island

The coast of Menorca has seven lighthouses that for centuries guided ships during the nights and on stormy days. Located in different island points, the route to visit them is surprising because of the abrupt nature.

  • Artrutx Lighthouse was Built in 1854 and a tower of 34 meters high. This is an  excellent place to enjoy Menorcan cuisine in the restaurants located in the old lighthouse keepers’ houses.
  • Punta de Sa Farola, welcomes Ciutadella. The lighthouse was built in 1863 to facilitate the entry of ships to the port of the city.
  • Punta Natí Lighthouse is located in the northwest of Menorca offers a surprisingly wild landscape surrounded by cliffs.
  • Cavalleria Lighthouse located at the most northern point of the island, is one of the best known. It was the first lighthouse built on the island around 1857 to avoid the many shipwrecks that took place due to the cliffs in the area.
  • Isla del Aire Lighthouse was the highest lighthouse in the Balearic Islands until 1977, when the Moscarter lighthouse was built in Ibiza. It is located on a small island to the southeast of Menorca, the natural habitat of the black lizard, a typical island species.
  • Mahón – Sant Carles Lighthouse on the south side of Mahon’s port, access is restricted as it is located in the military facilities where the remains of the castle of San Felipe dating from the sixteenth century.
  • Favaritx Lighthouse built in 1922 on black slate rocks, is located in Albufera des Grau and surprises us with its arid environment, which reminds us of the lunar landscape. This lighthouse is built in one of the points of the island where the Tramuntana blows most strongly.

Finally, we cannot forget our recommendations to enjoy a romantic evening tasting the local gastronomy in some of the most charming places in Menorca such as the restaurant S’Engolidor in Es Migjorn, the Jardí de Ses Bruixes in Mahon or Es Forn de Torre Solí Nou, located in a typical house
